Read simple notices without full dependence on translation.
Explain daily activities with basic patterns and polite forms.
Catch the core of conversations about time, plans, permission, and prohibition.
Build short sentences that are correct in particles and word order.
# N4 Study Materials
# Study Strategy (10 Weeks)
N4 is the transition from “memorize patterns” to “understand patterns.” Use this rhythm for steady progress:
Re-audit N5 Foundations
Recheck mastery of basic particles, basic te-forms, and everyday vocabulary at random.
Raise N4 Grammar
Work through core patterns from N4 Grammar step by step; do not rush to other patterns before conjugations stick.
Expand Short Reading
Use the N4 Kanji list and push yourself to read simple paragraphs without furigana.
Structured Listening Practice
Train with two-person conversations before moving into three-party dialogue.
Mixed Practice Tests
Focus mainly on fixing areas that often fail in self try-out sessions.
